Biking for the Kids!

They are right here, among us--kids living with the insecurities of abuse, neglect, poverty, and turmoil impacting them so deeply that fleeing home feels safer than staying. But together, we can help Anchor House provide a safe harbor.
Anchor House warmly receives homeless, runaway, abused, and at-risk youth who come to the door. Staff also proactively work with schools and scour the streets of Trenton to identify those who need help but don’t know where to find it. They receive shelter, guidance—and much love—to transition into a secure and productive future.
Once again, I’m raising funds for the kids by completing all four Anchor House events: the 500-mile, seven-day bike ride July 12-18); the 500-mile ride and 100-mile run starting June 6th; and--new this year—the 50-mile Paws for Anchor House dog walk. I invite you to join my fundraising efforts by making a tax-deductible donation and following my event pages.
This year, I’m dedicating my participation in memory of my dear friend, Laurie Babicki, a longtime, enthusiastic supporter of Anchor House and a believer in the potential of all kids to live their dreams. Along with her generous financial donations, Laurie generously provided me with gear, training, and moral support over my 19 years of helping the kids. Her kindness will be the wind at my back.
Anchor House is serving an increasing number of youth at a time when other sources of funding have decreased, so--more than ever--thank you for making a difference for the kids.
Take care,
Sherry
P.S. As always, I also ride in memory of my nephew, Chad Breitz, whose “invisible bike” will ride next to mine, and in memory of my friend Maria Hector, who wanted her real bike to continue to help the kids after her passing.
