When I first signed up to do the Anchor House Ride for Runaways (back in 2013), I thought it would be a one year thing. Little did I know that I’d become hooked on the event. The long days of riding, the camaraderie shared with other riders, and the fundraising for an excellent cause keeps pulling me back. When I completed the ride that first year, Kathy, my wife, took one look at me and the other riders and said, I guess you’ll be doing this every year now. This year will be my 13th Ride for runaways, and I hope there'll be many more in my future.

I’m excited to be cycling in the 47th Anchor House Ride for Runaways this July. As you may recall from past years, the ride is a fundraiser for Anchor House- a really important local cause (see below).

This year’s event is scheduled for July 12 to 19, and is a 7-day ride covering 500 miles from Geneva, NY to the Quaker Bridge Mall in Lawrenceville, NJ.

I want to emphasize that the money is for a terrific cause. Anchor House Inc. is a multi-service agency for runaway, homeless, abused, and at-risk youth and their families. The Anchor House Ride for Runaways raises a significant amount of money towards their annual operating budget. Our motto on the ride is “It’s for the kids!"
