It’s approaching that time of year again.

While I’m not very active on social media, I know just how powerful it can be—especially when it comes to raising awareness and advocating for youth who are too often overlooked or unheard.

Years ago—when I was (much) younger—I took part in my very first Anchor House charity ride: a 500-mile, week-long cycling journey to support vulnerable young people facing unimaginable challenges. That ride changed me. It opened my eyes to the life-saving, life-shaping work of Anchor House—and I’ve been riding every year since.

From July 12–19, 2025, I’ll once again join the 47th Annual Anchor House Ride for Runaways, cycling from Geneva, NY to Trenton, NJ. This year’s ride will be especially meaningful to me. Over the years, I’ve logged thousands of miles in the saddle, climbed steep hills & cruised country roads from my bike. I’ve made lifelong friends and built memories I’ll carry forever.

And with every mile, I’m reminded why I ride.

Anchor House is a lifeline for youth aged 12 to 24 who are homeless, aging out of foster care, or facing abuse, neglect, or trauma. The staff there—guided by trauma-informed care—create real paths to healing and hope. And the stories shared by the young people they support? They stay with you. They fuel every push of the pedal.

This cause means the world to me. I know that there are more rides behind me than ahead—but I’m not done yet.

I’m aiming to raise $5,000 to support Anchor House’s mission, and I would be deeply grateful for your support.

If you’ve donated before: thank you. I hope you’ll consider continuing—or even increasing—your support this year.
Thank you!
DeWayne
