Biking Back from Owasco Lake!

Russell Buckley

The Anchor House is based in Trenton, and it's core mission is to provide temporary-to-permanent housing for runaway and abused children. Anchor House is all about the kids-- they operate a low overhead, highly effective organization that lends a direct helping hand to some of the most vulnerable segments of our population. It's an organization that I'm proud to help raise funds for on an annual basis. A majority of the Anchor House's annual budget is funded through donations provided via the Ride for Runaways.

Your donation does not pay for my bike, my food, my accommodations, or my tight bicycle clothing. Any donation, small or large, helps the Anchor House fulfill it's mission. Everything goes to the House: I've already paid my own way.

I was absolutely blown away by the generosity of your donations last year. THANK YOU! I am humbled and grateful for your support, and hope that you're able to donate again this year. In 2018, I raised more money, through more unique donors, than I had in any of the eight years prior. I would love nothing more than to keep raising the bar with your support!

Welcome to my fundraising page. I'll post the occasional update here as we go!

10 Day Forecasts are notoriously unreliable... looks like a heatwave is going to really bake us on Days 6 & 7! Temperatures getting up to 94 on Friday, Day 6; Sustaining in the high 90's on Saturday, Day 7. WOOF.

Five and Ten day forecasts for the route this week... looks clean for the first half, a little dicey with rain once we get into the ten day forecast on the back half of the week. but that can change! NOT TOO HOT, NOT TOO HUMID. Thumbs up.

I don't get out on my Cannondale Synapse too often living in the City. I do, however, get onto the twice as heavy CitiBike's pretty frequently! Done at least 100mi since Memorial Day on these 45lb bikes.
