Please support me my 13th consecutive Anchor House Ride for Runaways and the 40th anniversary of the ride!

The real reason I do the ride every year is because of the mission. Anchor House is helping kids, who live right here in our neighborhoods and who attend our schools. It's also the reason I am honored and proud to serve as Vice President on the Anchor House Board of Directors and also as a member of the Anchor House Foundation Board.

When the Ride for Runaways began more than 40 years ago, it was a way of raising funds for Anchor House to continue its work and raise awareness of that work. Today the ride raises more than a third of the organization’s annual operating costs. Anchor House, which started as a shelter for runaway and abused children in Trenton, has provided a safe harbor for kids with nowhere else to go since 1978. Since then, with the support of the community and the ever-increasing need to help our kids, Anchor House has expanded their programs.

Today Anchor House is a multi-service agency for runaway, homeless, abused, and at-risk youth and their families. Anchor House has committed its efforts to providing comprehensive, life-saving assistance to our most vulnerable population. Anchor House provides a continuum of care for children, youth and young adults between the ages of 12 through 21 who have suffered abuse, neglect, and/or homelessness.
Its services include:

*Anchor House Shelter - an emergency shelter for young people ages 12-17

*The Anchorage - a transitional living program for ages 18-21

*Anchor Link - community outreach for children and youths ages 6-21

*Anchor Line - permanent Apartment Program works with homeless young adults ages 18-21.

*Connecting Youth Program - helps youth ages 14-17 build a support system so they have life-long connections within the community.

As a board member, I can attest that Anchor House is a very well-run organization with very low overhead. The $ raised truly goes to help the kids. Any donation is very much appreciated. Thank your for your support.
